Saw cutting or slab sawing is a process in which self-propelled saw are used to cut many types of materials and applications.

The most common saw cutting application is the saw cutting of concrete, asphalt, asphalt over concrete, Belgium block and other materials. The concrete can be reinforced with steel or bridge grid deck. Saw cutting is done with saws that are either gas, diesel, electric or hydraulic driven and can use blades to 90”. Cutting depths can be performed to 36" deep. The type of applications is typically bridge decks, concrete slabs for pipe trenches, suspended interior slabs stairway or elevator openings, asphalt road way and asphalt or concrete sawing and sealing. Other applications can be plunge cuts into bridge parapet walls, duct openings, and roof openings. Openings and trenches can be cut into pieces for removal and disposal.
